The Boys (2019)

runtime: 1h | rating: 8.7/10

A group of vigilantes set out to take down corrupt superheroes who abuse their superpowers.

"The Boys" is set in a universe in which superpowered people are recognized as heroes by the general public and owned by a powerful corporation, Vought International, which ensures that they are aggressively marketed and monetized. Outside of their heroic personas, most are arrogant and corrupt. The series primarily focuses on two groups: the titular Boys, vigilantes looking to keep the corrupted heroes under control, and the Seven, Vought International's premier superhero team. The Boys are led by Billy Butcher, who despises all superpowered people, and the Seven are led by the egotistical and unstable Homelander. As a conflict ensues between the two groups, the series also follows the new members of each team: Hugh "Hughie" Campbell of the Boys, who joins the vigilantes after his girlfriend is killed in a high-speed collision by the Seven's A-Train, and Annie January/Starlight of the Seven, a hopeful young heroine forced to face the truth about the heroes she admires.

The world's most powerful superheroes ('Supes') are secretly bending society to its whims, until the underdog team 'The Boys', victims of the 'Supes', conjure up a plan to take down 'The Seven' and 'Vought International' once and for all. Fighting a never ending conspiracy of corporate espionage, deep-cutting secrets and nigh-Godly figures, 'The Boys' will do whatever it takes to save the world from its corrupt 'superheroes' before they become unstoppable--or die trying.

Elsewhere, the Seven are joined by Annie January, a young and hopeful heroine forced to face the truth about those she admires. Other members of the Seven include the disillusioned Queen Maeve, the insecure Deep, the mysterious Black Noir, and the white supremacist Stormfront. The Boys are rounded out by tactical planner Mother's "MM" Milk, weapons specialist Frenchie, and super-powered test subject Kimiko. Overseeing the Seven is Vought executive Madelyn Stillwell, who is later succeeded by publicist Ashley Barrett, themselves overseen by Vought CEO Stan Edgar, who also maintains controlled governmental opposition via his adoptive daughter Congresswoman Victoria Neuman.so with all what's going on what is it that's going to happen is it enough or will murder and mayhem find it way?
